Interesting. Unfortunately the description of the Demi-brigade is not accurate. The Amalgame that created the Demi-brigades involved the reorganisation of the ex-royal battalions and volunteer battalions at company level. Indeed some of the Demi-brigades consisted entirely of volunteer units. The 2:1 ratio of volunteer battalions to ex-royal battalions is as far as I know the 'embrigadement' and preceded the amalgame. Available OOB information suggests that this 2:1 ratio was not always achieved. |
