It seems that there is a shortage of 28mm ACAV,

Is there anyone making them, possible open, with lots of opportunity for detailing and giving it a in field look?

thank you

Gaso.Line has one in 1/48: link

Also found one in 1/55 (not 1/56 but should not be noticeable) from Parkfield: link

The Gaso.Line model appears to possess far better detail but comes at a higher price.

Beat me to it. I was going to suggest you look at diecast.

Baker Company has an M113 that according to the webpage you can make either the standard M113 or the ACAV version.

If you just want a 113, Empress has one as well.

in the end, I went for the one from Parkfield:

the kit is 1/50 scale which is actually a scale I like for 28mm, a bit bigger than 1/56 and smaller than 1/48.

All the parts in each kit (background figures are Empress' Vietminh)

length of the ACAV

A US figures from Parkfield and a vietminh from Empress. The Vietnamese are small figures. Feet to eyes, the US figure is around 28.5mm, nothing shocking or out of the ordinary from say Warlord or TAG.

Dry assembly, everything looks like it fits together well.

Overall quite happy with the kit. It is not what is "best" on the market in terms of detail and sculpting, but I am quite pleased with it.

Very inspiring Daniel. I don't know yet when I will start my Vietnam project.

I have WWII US troops and a WWI French army competing for the next painting slot :)
