Ordered several modern aircraft from the MSD range, was pleasantly surprised as to how nice they are for the price! Up there with GHQ and CinC from what I have seen thus far. Only came across them by accident when shopping Noble Knight on eBay and saw they carried a good selection of them. Ordered several as they looked nice from the limited (unpainted) pics. Not disappointed. My only complaint is on their website they have too many painted pics, really takes away from the detail of the bare metal models (though this can be said of many manufacturers). Anyone have their WWII aircraft? How would you compare that line to others? |

I had a bunch of their WW2 Battle of Britain planes, I sold them (well, most of them, I may still have a few) at the H-con flea market a few years ago, they were very nice, but I decided to go with 1/144th instead of the 1/285th, I think that was the scale of those. But I agree, they were/are nice for sure! Peter |

I have some of their Swordfish. I did two entire blog entries on how much I hated the MSD Swordfish and the Heroics and Ross Swordfish. But they are 1/285th biplanes and were made to be hated. link link I also have a MSD PB4Y Privateer which looks quite nice. I've looked over their planes and I would rate them higher than Ross and Heroics, but not as good as other manufacturers.
I really like Raiden for their consistency and quality. Price-on a par or slightly less than MSD. I also like Scotia, though sometimes they get it wrong. For non-fiddly models C in C is great, but big. GHQ may be the best of the lot, but they don't have a lot of offerings and are quite expensive. |
