Ohio, NY and other US government websites hit:

Seeing as how that cancer has metastasized and spread, and their people and assets have left Syria for unknown places (many of them may have come to the West?), would you conclude there's still a lot more to come?

How long do you think before they "join"* forces with North Korea and other nations that keep cracking into our government databases and infrastructure controls?

Dan
* Join/coordinate in the sense of "the enemy of my enemy is my 'friend'"

I really don't think that the DPRK and ISIS would interact beyond attempting to kill each other. ISIS are far too religiously and ideologically puritan to put up with the appalling heresies of the DPRK's pseudo-religious version of Maoist-Stalinism.

What are your thoughts about the Iranian theocracy and North Korea's cooperation in sharing missile technology?

Dan
PS. A single shared hatred (or fear) can make even the most unlikely people end up sharing the same "bed". :)

Probably just another false flag.

Lol. Sure.

We only improve our defenses if we are attacked. Better to see our weaknesses by them then the Chinese or others!

The Norks have much more capable and robust cyberwarfare capabilities than IS. What IS did here is nothing compared to the penetrations the Norks made against Sony Pictures a couple of years ago.

Could these others be connected in any way to the attack in the original post?

Or are all of these nothing more than just coincidences?

Dan

Coincidence, Dan. You'd be surprised just how much such stuff happens everyday that never makes the headlines.

As for ISIS.. Well, their cyber effort came to a crashing halt when their star cybergeek had a face-to-face with a Hellfire missile (too bad…). Since then, its been a pretty lame and amateur hour.

Frankly, I don't have much sympathy for the victims in this cases. Most of the time, their systems are vulnerable because they fail (in some cases, horribly so) to keep up with the periodic upgrades. That was the case with Wannacry.
