Hi, Im looking to buy 2 6 feet by 4 feet battle mats. Ive looked through all the old posts but could still use a little help. I note how sturdy etc the mouse mat type battle mats are but i prefer something with a bit more texture. Because i want to be able to drape the mat over hills etc to provide some 3d conturing I've been looking at the Cigar Box Battlemats. Im trying to decide between the Grasslands Mat or the Plush Grasslands Mat. I like the idea of the plush but i haven't seen these mats and I'm concerned what exactly they look like. If anyone has one of these mats or any info i would be interested in any comments and an answer to the following would be great. 1. If i purchased two CB Grassland Mats does it look right if they are laid out and joined together on the table? That is what is it like where they join/overlap? 2. Not sure how to explain this but is the texture on the plush mat long/high? Is it like teddybear fur? If its too high while it might work well with 28mm figures I'm not so sure if using it for WW2 6mm for example… Thanks, Mike |

I have a CB Grasslands mat. The print goes right to the edge of the mat and so you can join two side by side without any issues other than the obvious junction being visible, as it would be putting any two pieces of material together. |

Hi Mike. I have a couple CB Plush mats and I think they are terrific. They drape over contours better than any other mat in my collection. As for the length/height of the nap, I use mine with 15mm and there is no difficulty. Might be a tad long for 6mm though. I have used two mats together joined by a bit of tape on the underside. You can see the join but it is easily disguised with other terrain features. Having said that, I think I would go for their standard mats if I were using 6mm. Hope that helps. Kent |

Thanks guys that's been very helpful. They do look lovely and 90% of my games are not 6mm so think I will go for plush. Time to get the wallet out;) Mike |
