"Posting on Frothers" Topic

I received a message from someone today, chiding me for posting as "guest" on the Frothers forum. He says that's why people supposedly don't trust me. (sigh)

So let me say this one more time: I do not post on Frothers as "guest". I have an account there, and if I want to post something on that forum, I will use my TMP Editor account there.

I don't know who is posting as "guest" on Frothers, or why they are pretending to be me.

If any of you are posting on Frothers in a way that makes people think I am posting there, please stop.

Bill, please do not let that which you cannot control trouble you. You'll be more contented. Forgive and forget.

As I said on another thread here … and I still stand by it … IMO, the less said about that other "site" and the "flora & fauna" that inhabit it … the better … Nothing good or of any real value comes from there …

Good advice Private Snafu, I laud your outlook, etc. But I come from another POV … always have … "Forgive No One, Forget Nothing … " That may be seen as one of my failings. But I'm much too old and cranky to change now …

We usually just laugh at them. The only thing I cannot abide is their rampant racism and homophobia. But in this case, I wanted to be clear (once again) on this subject.

Bill, You & I don't always agree on some things. But I'm with you completely on that …

I don't think you are accomplishing anything except drawing attention to what's going on "over there".
Do you really think it will stop? All you will do is encourage more if it.

That's not the point, Winston, The point is to make it clear, once again, for the benefit of anyone who might be confused on this issue, that I have not been posting on Frothers using false accounts.

In my opinion if would be best if Dear Editor were to cancel his account at that other place and NEVER MENTION THEM EVER AGAIN for any reason.

Since those posts were deleted, how can they possibly add "context"?

Years ago when I had the ambition to do so, I sometimes argued with myself on two different computers. It's faster that way than logging in and logging out. I even earned one of my sock poppers a short stint in the DH.
My "real" account (and who is to say which one was real?) took a victory lap. The statute of limitations has hopefully expired on that crime.
I soon grew weary of that "fun".
But some never tire of it.

Anyone who has been around in this world had had many different email accounts. I've had Compuserve, aol, Msn, and more work emails than you can shake a stick at.

Hey John ! I'm still painting my massive inventory of 6mm Sci-fi ! Right now I'm working on my Death Guard Chaos Space Marines and some Chaos Khorne World Eater Space Marines. For 6mm Sci-fi gaming. But I'm more of a modeler than a gamer these days. I usually post pics on the 6mm Sci-fi boards.

If a "Frother" was at a game at my house and acted as they do on the list, I'd toss him out-- the second story window.

On the other hand if I went to a game put on by that person I should have no illusions as to their character.

I just thought of a new "term" for some types – "Frolls" I think it's roots and creation is self explanatory … LOL !

I normally hate internet "memes". They are way too often a lazy alternative to actually making a relevant point via discussion. But I'll make an exception here.

and…

I wonder what happened to them. Perhaps some civic minded individual finally got around to sending a formal complaint to the site's hosting provider for allowing the site's admins to permit cyber-stalking, harassment, and other violations of the Host's Terms of Service? Or perhaps the Host got tired of being CC'd on all of the DMCA Takedown Notices that the rampant posting of unauthorized copyrighted material on the "Froth Pot Anti-TMP Thread" generated and finally pulled the plug on the site? Or did Bill or some other target of that community finally take advantage of the fact that the UK takes it's libel laws fairly seriously and pay a British lawyer to send Frother's owner and/or Host a "cease and desist" order?

We'll probably never know! ;-)

In all seriousness, as much as I hate the morally cowardly behavior of the former denizens of the anti-TMP thread, I'm torn on Frothers as a website. There actually was some useful material there. For instance I found one of the "Colonel Marbles Figure Roundup" pages of use last year when I was looking for some alternate Dark Elf figures for a Warhammer/AoS army. But on the whole, any positive was countered by the purposely vulgar and profane nature of much of the site. In that respect it reminded me of the Warhammer 40k Tactics pages hosted by 1d4chan. (they're often at the top of Google searches when looking for such material, so they are hard to miss..) There is actually some useful army building and play advice on those pages. But one has to wade through all the profanity, trash talk, and utter filth posted by children trying to be "edgy". It is often simply not worth it.

Oh, who am I kidding. Frothers appears to be gone, and I for one am glad of it.

Just looked at an anti-TMP thread on Frothers. Even some of it's membership are now commenting on how pathetic and irrelevant the Frothers forum is now. I agree.
