What do you think is a good ratio of Mexican figs to Texan figs when playing the Alamo in 25mm?

There's a set of home grown rules on the web called, I believe, 'Come and Take it' that gives you starting strengths for both sides. It's played in a series of rounds where the Mexicans get reused. I've run it a few times and find it enjoyable.

I actaully have those rules and they look fun and easy. The bad part is the Mexicans have around 340 figs per wave. The Alamo defenders have 80 plus some artillery pieces. I was hoping of reducing the ratio down.

Link to the rules?

I gound them in a old courier magazine vol 9 no. 5. But im almost certain the wargamesvault sells them.

Then reduce the ratio down.

What is a comfortable number of Texans?

How big was the first wave compared to the number of Texans?

Figure out that ratio and apply it to the comfortable number of Texans and there you go. But you'll probably need a few players.

I recall the Alamo Game that Frontier Mniatures ran at a few cons (DallasCon 1986). Texicans were 1:2 and Mexicans 1:10 if i remember right. It being the 150th they ran it a half dozen times at that con. A friend of mine was key to the only time the Texicans won ("Touch a gun and die")

I have played the "Come Get It" game several times with my old game club – in 54mm! It's a kinfd of game I like to call "Three Drink Minumum." A total hoot, always comes down to the last turn.

You'll need all the Texans but you can use rosters with the Mexicans. Part of the problem for the Texans is getting thinner after each wave….
