Hello, I would like to run a large Napoleonic game in the Fall for our local club. I am looking for some inspiration from historical scenarios and was hoping the collective knowledge of TMP could point me in the right direction. Here is what I am looking for:

- Main forces would be French, Prussians and Russians – this is based on what my friends and I have and would like to put on the table.

- The battle would be approximately 3-4 Corps per side, we're going to be using Blucher that could manage that amount roughly.

- Would have to be in the post 1810 era based on the uniforms that we have.

- Ideally the Imperial Guard could plausibly be in the area of the battle and able to be deployed (this is only because I want to geek out a little get those models to the table).

So based on the above, I am thinking the 1813 campaign in Germany: either part of the Liepzieg battle, or one of the smaller battles that led up to it, Dennewitz, etc.

I look forward to your suggestions and links to OOBs if possible. Thanks.

Lutzen's probably your best bet if you want to use the Guard.

I agree Lutzen.

You seem to have sketched it out pretty well yourself. The forces and uniforms suggest either Lutzan, Bautzen or something with the Army of Silesia from the end of the Armistice to the First Abdication. But if you limit yourself to historical scenarios with both and only late-Napoleonic Prussians and Russians and in which the Imperial Guard is present in force, you're going to have a very short list of possibles. I'd suggest an invented scenario something like the Charles S. Grant's "Reinforcing a Town" which is itself a cut-down Dresden. The Prussians and Russians attack early on, and the arrival of the Guard reverses things. (This also lets a player or two straggle in late, which I understand sometimes happens in wargame groups.)

Take a look at the Age of Eagles "Napoleon vs. Europe 1813-1814" scenario book. You should be able to convert to your ruleset.

There are other scenarios for download at ageofeagles.com

I recommend you use the Scharnhorst: Campaigning with Blücher included in the rules. It is an excellent campaign engine. You could do it via email and then get together to game the tabletop battle. Those size forces should create a very interesting game.

I always like the battle of Eylau. Very bloody and has all the forces you mentioned.

Try any of the battles involving Blucher's army in 1814. Russians and Prussians and Imperial Guard, oh my.

Vanchamps from the Age of Eagles site above seems to fit the bill.
