One of the banner headers here on TMP today was for CRS. On that site is full listings, S&H, etc. implying being active.

On the Welcome page:

Orders placed today will ship on: July 10 – 14 (updated: 19 June 2017)

notice today's date, anyone know for certain?

Wow. Thank you for sharing this info.

The 28mm offerings look perfect for new Soviet Five Year Plan buildings for Railway and Freight station.

Compare he prices to OGauge buildings that need modification/work and you could justify the prices as they are pretty good.

Thanks again--JH

Sure, I hope others who can confirm will post here. I sent an email query to CRS. I'd like to order some but I would like to have confirmation…

They are doing business. I have ordered from them a lot. They give you a date due to each item being made to order. It is well worth the wait.

jdginaz21 Jun 2017 7:45 p.m. PST

They've been back doing business for two or three years now.

zoneofcontrol21 Jun 2017 8:06 p.m. PST

The old resin building end of the business was purchased by someone else and was open for business for a while. I cannot recall the name of the person/business these items were available from. They did shut down for a period of time but I do not know if they re-opened. As I said, I cannot recall the name so I do not know where look for them.

If anybody out there knows, please help out.

The resin buildings are being done by Art of Wargaming, Not sure if he is selling items at the moment.

Old resin series at theartofwargaming.com/.

I ordered from both The Art of Wargaming and Crescent Root this month, got some answers to some questions in 24hours. Very nice buildings!

atom12 & Renaud S,
Thanks. I wracked my brain and just couldn't come up with the name.

I checked the site and it says "Open For Business" and 2 Weeks form order to shipment. Good news.

When they first opened, there was a thread about the quality of the pieces being substandard. Not sure if that has been remedied, but that possibly explains the startup, closing shop, then reopening.

Private Matter22 Jun 2017 10:52 a.m. PST

On Crescent Root Studio's page they always list their lead time as many of their buildings are manufactured at time of order. I take that line to mean that on Monday they updated that any orders placed this week will be shipped out sometime between July 10th and 14th. Having placed several orders with them I can say that I have found their shipping estimates to be very accurate. I can also say that I have found nothing substandard with anything I've every received from Crescent Root Studios, quite the opposite.

I make and sell MDF stuff and I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the stuff I received by them. I even fired off an email to them to say sowhich is something I never do.

Can't recommend their stuff enough and the service while slower/old fashioned is excellent.

Just ordered the first time from them in May

Sorry, I was referring to the resin pieces with Art of Wargaming, NOT Crescent Root's current operation.

Cold Warrior23 Jun 2017 5:53 a.m. PST

YogiBearMinis, don't know that I can agree on "substandard quality", I have some of their "first wave" 15mm painted European buildings and they are some of the nicest pieces in my 15mm collection (selling off my 15mm, but will be particularly sad to see those go).

Never heard any complaints about their early quality either. Most comments were certainly positive. Don't know why they close then reopen so often, but don't believe it is an issue with quality.

nazrat25 Jun 2017 6:25 p.m. PST

My CR stuff is from way back in the early days and the quality has always been excellent. Anybody that said otherwise either very unlucky, mistaken, or just plain fibbing.

Art of Wargaming's site says they are not taking orders.

And Crescent Root's site wants me to have login info?

Now that Art of Wargaming seems to be defunct, is there any source for CR's old resin line of buildings?

45thdiv03 Oct 2018 5:33 p.m. PST

Sadly not that I have found. I would love to find out what happened to the molds and masters.

Razor7814 Dec 2018 10:03 a.m. PST

I still have the rights, masters, and molds. Hope to someday reopen but right now with current job and family I dont have time to dedicate to the business and dont want to be "that" guy that gets TMP complaints about how long it took to get their order. So for the foreseeable future the buildings will remain OOP.
