"Restrict the NSFW Board?" Topic

Some people have expressed their unhappiness with the content of the NSFW board. It has also been suggested to me that we could change how the board is accessed, to improve things.

We could:
* leave the board as-is
* make the board 'opt in' only
* split the board to its own forum

If the board is 'opt in', that means it would not appear on the TMP homepage unless a member specifically goes to the General Boards page and subscribes to that board.

If the board is split to its own forum, it would be similar to The Blue Fez – membership by application only, not part of the main forum.

Your thoughts?

While I think some of the posters could exercise a little better judgement, I don't see any reason to change it. As Dan said, if you don't like it don't look behind the curtain.

Don't change it ! Everyone is free to be unhappy about it, but that certainly does not mean needing for the BOARD to change.
It sounds like the neighbour who stands on a ladder to look over an eight foot wall and then complains about the woman who is sunning topless in her garden. This kind of hypocritical behaviour must NOT be rewarded !

Why change things just because "some" have complained?
They can always turn it off and problem solved.
If it bothers them that much, make it a Poll Suggestion, started not by you, but by the person complaining.

This seems to me to be a solution in desperate search of a problem.

Some people complained about miniatures with nudes …
They were banished to a single page.

Some people complained about the name "Need more boobies" ….
It was changed to "NSFW".

Some people complained that the photos were not identified as "nude" …
You had to notify the Editor every time you post a photo there.

Some people complain about the "content" of the photos of these miniatures …
It's time to say enough !.

The funny thing about this "chase" is that without a doubt and very far from any other forum … every thread there … accumulates many more visits than Anyone else comparing

In this thin days of TMP with so many casualties and farewells … a common thread can accumulate about 100-150 visits … one with some luck …. 200-300 visits and one very very good …. about 400 Visits (I'm not talking about the controversial ones) …

In NSFW the minimum visited is … 600 visits, the normal 650/750 … a really good one … 900 to 1000 visits …

THEREFORE … it is by far the page that most attention and visits receives in all TMP … no matter the reason …

Being almost the only one that "feeds" that forum … I am not at all in agreement with any other modification as to divide it, to transfer it, to request a special key to enter to him or to present before a photo card with fingerprint …

Much easier for our beloved, dear and we hope God always accompanies him…. Editor-in-Chief … is to put it off and with that… give a great happiness to that complaining minority about its existence … of course imho. .. it would be a very bad move or decision because that would only increase even more the loss of visitors here…

Once when at work I went to TMP and without signing in went to the message boards. I clicked don a post not check which board it was and a NSFW photo popped up.

I have this board turned off when I'm signed in. But it seems anyone who just randomly shows up on TMP can access it. While I have no problem with board but think we as a community would be better served with it being opt in.

As is. If folks don't want to look at the images of naked or nearly naked miniatures, then they don't have to click on that post.

I am unhappy with the content of the Napoleonics Boards. Maybe we could change how the boards are accessed, to improve things. Perhaps they can be made "opt-in" also?

It's not like it has an offensive name that they have to see when they access discussion threads of subjects that they do not find offensive. I'm still miffed that some snowflake complained to Editor Bill about my previous "handle." I didn't see anything wrong with Col. Lingus but I guess that was a Private Matter.

When I was still an undergrad, an erotic cartoon festival was shown on a Saturday night in a closed venue in the student union. A handful of students paid for admission, sat through the entire presentation, and then wrote letters to the school paper complaining that the cartoons shown during the Erotic Cartoon Festival were erotic in nature. Some people enjoy being offended, and will go out of their way to find something that offends them.

My adult filters are on, and I don't venture into that forum. Leave it as it is, please.

The Nude and Semi-Nude Females board is just fine. In fact, it's my favorite board. As for the sensibilities of "the children" they can download hard-core porn on their phones. Have you seen what they are bombarded with on broadcast television.

I've never seen miniatures in actual coitus though they ARE out there. Look up the Midnight Mascot figures. I fully admit my prejudices. I do not like figures by artists that hate women. These are those who create monsters like slapping a pair of magnificent breasts on a spiders body or gross and repulsive demons with stripper boots and again-- breasts. I like women, and I love their softness, grace and beauty, their virtues and their follies.

Most of the stuff I see is of the old style "pin-ups" by Gil Elvgren, Vargas, or Soderblum, and have a "wink-wink-nudge nudge" Quality about them. Burlesque, not pornography is their essence. Actually I think it does a service, reminding us what truly good looking women are supposed to look like.

As for Tango-- Bravo, I don't know how he finds this stuff.
