I posted an article over at Hobby Games Recce about my rationale adapting The Men Who Would Be Kings for use in Star Wars skirmishes and the resulting games I played out with my seven year-old. The system seems to port fairly well at a very basic level, gets a bit fiddly adding extra bits like probe droids and Jedi, but overall worked nicely to engage a young person with both the rules and the popular setting.

You can read about it here:

Thanks. Tempted to do something similar--though more generic--myself.It's a nice clean system for a few units on a side.

you can try my star wars ruleset if you are not that into right punctuation it is free anyway and made by a fan for fans of the thing in question lately i been under fire from some old arses here in tmp but like i say if you are a critic then do something better :) it is a card driven ruleset with force powers also for the jedi.

I seen some sci fi using dragon rampant the fantasy version of these rules, but had not thought about using TMWWBK. Very good idea, thank you!! As I don't use them for my colonial games I could use htem for this.

I am interested to see what the designer does with the official sci fi version of dragon rampant.
