I just read that, somewhere out there, this is a thing: A PDF of the Beta edition of the never-published "Scratchforce Sourcebook" for "VOR: The Maelstrom", with a much improved version of the force building system found in the original rules. Now, I am NOT talking about the "No Limits" game rules. These are very nice and I have them, but they are NOT what I am looking for. Does anyone know if this mysterious "official" PDF exists, and if so, where I can find it? |

I thought that Vor was extremely unbalanced between book and custom forces. |

The Custom Force generator in the rulebook was really only balanced against other custom forces. If the final points cost per model were reduced by 20%, they could face groups from the separate Forcebooks on pretty good terms. As with any new addition to a given set of rules, there would be playtesting to really fine-tune it. I developed an "Unseelie Host" based on the Changeling: The Dreaming rpg, and full conversions of "Bauhaus" and "Mishima" from Warzone. My group did a lot of playtesting with these, and *mostly* that 20% reduction was about spot on. Sadly, I lost all of my data on these when I transferred files from old to new computers. |
