My Reaper and Ral Partha Ogres, along with some comparisons between manufacturers over the years.

Those look really good, darebear. Each model has a lot of personality and looks ready for some serious smashing, crushing and stealing stuff – in other words the way ogres should.

Your painting tips are great. As I don't own an airbrush and never homemake my own blends, I'm not sure I'll ever use the tips, but there's no arguing the effectiveness of what you've done. Forgive my ignorance, but are the triads you refer to by Reaper paints? Foundry?

Thank you for the inspiration!

Thanks Fish! The two smaller Ogres will end up being Ogre children on a single 40mm base. Had that brainwave after I posted on my blog. I have an Ogre woman from Otherworld Miniatures so I will have a Chief, Wife, elder son and two whelps in a unit. A family that fights together eats together.

The triads are Reaper Master Series paints. Been using them for 17 years. Fabulous paint line. Makes life much easier as a painter. I originally learned how to paint well from one of their forum experts many moons ago. Back then there were no Citadel washes so I had to learn how to make my own. One of the best skills I ever learned. The ratios are simple too (paint vs thinning medium)
1:4 – glazing
1:10 wash

"A family that fights together eats together." That should be posted in every ogre home.

Thank you for clearing up the paint question. You know, in looking over your photos again I must compliment you on how you do eyes. They really pop (in a good way).

Rather sad you didn't get more responses to this. Anyway, keep up the superb work – and keep posting on your progress!

Daryl
