While most of the focus currently is on Historicon, we'd like to throw out an idea for Fall-In. A couple of months ago a thread addressing a possible North American Lardy Day was started in the TOOFATLardies Yahoo Group (for rules such as Chain of Command, Sharp Practice2, I Ain't Been Shot Mum, etc.) Well, three of us (Patrick Berkebile, Jon Yuengling and myself (Ed Bowen)) would like to try and give this a shot at Fall-In in Lancaster, PA. this November. This would be a very informal event with the primary emphasis being on organizing/running TFL games during the convention. Our idea is to have a group of tables set aside for TFL participation games (COC, SP2, IABSM, whatever Lardy rules you'd like to run). Having an area reserved (in the main ballroom or elsewhere), will provide sort of a base of operations and offers an opportunity for fans of TFL to meet each other, be game masters and play in games. The tentative plan is to have this run for Friday and Saturday of Fall-In. The three of us will run at least one game each over this period and we need to determine if others that like TFL rules would like to participate. This way we can give the Fall-In organizers (initial contact has already been made), an estimate of number of tables and size of the area we will need. So, if you are interested in participating in some North American Lard at Fall-In, please let us know by responding to this thread. GM registration opens on 4 July and we have until mid August to get games in the PEL. Additional information will be forthcoming once interest is assessed. Thank you. |

I'd be interested. Most interested in running CoC, but could do something with IABSM (not much experience with these however… :) ) |

I really like the idea. I am not able to make Fall In this year. Perhaps next year. Matthew |

Thanks Matthew – we'll keep you in the loop if you like in case we try to do it again at Cold Wars or Historicon. Have to see how this one goes. Thanks for responding. Ed |

Pat Berkebile? I'm in. I'll speak with Pat about it. King30, I thought your Doctor told you to stay away from lard. |

King30, I thought your Doctor told you to stay away from lard. The doctor told me allot of things. He told me to lose weight, lower my blood pressure, etc. Everything we enjoy is either illegal, immoral or fattening. |

How well do Flames of War based units work for any of these WW2 systems? I'm looking for something to run at a convention using the figures I already have and FoW is just too cumbersome to newcomers at a convention set up. |

I think FOW based units should be fine with CoC. You would need a way to mark casualties on multi-figure bases. Also it might help to have some single mounted leader figures. |

I am considering doing some Chain of Command but I have only played a couple of times. I'll likely decide in July. |

Hi Tod, We'll add you to our list for interested Fall-In gamers. Let us know what you decide. Hopefully, even if you don't run a game, you can play in some of the games we'll have on the schedule. Thanks. |
