I'm looking for some good Achamaenid cavalry figures, principally for the later period. I like Baccus, but my other Classical armies are a mix of Irregular and Heroics and Ros figures, and Baccus don't mix that well with them. The H&R Persian cavalry are really for the earlier army, which wouldn't really be a problem, except that they have violin shields….

Can anyone suggest any other figures that might fit in? I'm thinking of perhaps Sarmations, and H&R do a Persian 'mounted spearman' (MAP 06); anyone know what they're like? I just want to be able to do the later cavalry with o shields, javelins, etc.

Have you checked Rapier?

I'll give the a look. My understandig was that they might be a little big than Heroics, but I will check them out. Thanks.

They will be bigger than H&R although the cavalry is not quite as big as Baccus, our infantries are an exact match though.

I have mixed Rapier and H&R in the same unit and they are fine together.

Looks like Rapier are the way to go. Thanks, people.
