Thanks, Tango! I'll confess I'm a little suspicious of the Cole Porter story, though. Happy to claim him as a fellow Hoosier, and I understand the FFL has a picture of him somewhere. but the stories of Porter as a Legionnaire seem to lack confirmatory detail, and unless they monkeyed with enlistment lengths for WWI, there just isn't enough time. It needs to be true, though. Picture him with a Legion song book and a precision drill team! |
