Dear All,

I'm thrilled that the PSC T-55 is out and hopefull my 2 preorder boxes are winging their way accross the Indian Ocean to my sweaty, shaking hands…

To pass the time, I wrote to PSC asking what was next in their cold war range – I suggested a plastic Leopard I would be well recieved for those keen to posess an Australian, Canadian, Dutch or even, wait for it, West German force…

The answer came today:

More than possible
!

Good news. I was really hoping they would tackle the French next.

I ordered 4 boxes of their T-55's just last week. Isn't Armies Army going to cover the Canadian and Dutch Leo 1's? Though not in plastic.

Navy Fower Wun Seven13 Jun 2017 9:10 p.m. PST

Yes its plastic I want – resin is the last resort for me now, the BF model Leo 1 is perfectly fine, just, well, resin!

I would love for PSC to make the Leopard 1A3-5 series and the YPR-765, or the OT-64.
The M60 Patton series with the option to put together the M60A2 Starship, USMC Patton with ERA.

Khusrau14 Jun 2017 1:59 a.m. PST

I just don't know if the Patton is sexy enough. I reckon you are more likely to see Chieftains, T64, M1 Abrams – but I would love to see more 15mm plastics.. especially basic stuff like M113 that people need tons of, and where the BF versions are pricey. (Of course, this will all arrive, just as I finish up painting up my Danes.) Might do the Dutch or Belgians next. Or perhaps jump to the other side and do Poles.

Achtung Minen14 Jun 2017 2:27 a.m. PST

I know it's not going to happen, but Marder with rear Heck MG (and no side skirts, aka the original Marder) would be stellar.

Also, plastic M60's and the Kampfpanzer M48A2GA2 would be great!

Bellbottom14 Jun 2017 2:49 a.m. PST

I think the world needs a plastic T62

gunnerphil14 Jun 2017 3:17 a.m. PST

Second shout for T62s

Khaki0814 Jun 2017 4:40 a.m. PST

A side question would be whether PSC plan to produce 1/72 (20mm) versions of any of this, as is common with their WW2 sets. A 20mm T55 would be lovely (Italeri are promising one).

Also a Chieftain, as there are currently no plastic kit 1/72 Chieftains on the market. It is odd that since the demise of the Airfix kit no-one has tackled this subject in plastic. Plenty of Leopards, Challys, M60s, Russian tanks etc, but no Chieftain, despite it's significant place in the history of tanks.

DuckanCover14 Jun 2017 4:54 a.m. PST

Seconds the Chieftain, if anyone's listening over there.

T62, T64, Centurion and Chieftain. All in 20mm.. :)

Pan Marek14 Jun 2017 7:14 a.m. PST

Khaki- I'd also welcome these in 20mm.

Guthroth14 Jun 2017 10:55 a.m. PST

I would like some plastic BTR60s or BTR50s

Khaki0814 Jun 2017 3:11 p.m. PST

Guthroth I assume you mean in 15mm? The S models 1\72 are lovely (though with a bit too much brass etch for a gaming model).

15mm and 28mm Fanatik14 Jun 2017 3:22 p.m. PST

I want Swedes. A 15mm S-tank would be great!

Khaki0814 Jun 2017 3:35 p.m. PST

Bindon, Modelcollect from China do no fewer than nine T64 variants as 1/72 plastic kits.. Not built one myself yet though.

Leopard 1 is a great choice

DuckanCover14 Jun 2017 10:37 p.m. PST

"Seconds the Chieftain, if anyone's listening over there."

Should've qualified that, by specifying 15mm…

You can make a case for plastic Leo 1's because the hybrid resin/metal ones from BF are expensive and don't have variants, but plastic Chieftains in 15mm have been available since 'Iron Maiden' and the BTR-60's will arrive soon with the 'Red Thunder' release:

My call would be for anything so long as they scale it up to 1/72 – I look forward to the release of the T55, even though I have a dozen Fabbri models!

From a business perspective, it would be wise to do anything ubiquitous where you can include extra parts for variants, so the M113 is the prime contender with Leo 1, Centurion and M60 in the running.

And just think what you can get out of an AMX13. A VCi perhaps…?

Armiesarmy16 Jun 2017 4:46 a.m. PST

I suspect the market follows team Yankee whether we like it or not

Achtung Minen23 Jun 2017 3:06 p.m. PST

It looks like Leopards are next!

The PSC design team have just started work on a 15mm Leopard 1 kit with A1, A3/4, Gepard, A5 and C1 options (to be confirmed). If the 1/72nd T55 "Willstarter" goes well this big cat will get the same treatment!
