So I have to admit… after getting tired of photobucket I have slacked off hosting pictures on TMP…

Other sites and forums allow direct posting of Pictures and I seem to be spending a lot more time on them posting pictures there than I do here.

So is there a simple solution for this? There is no way to host them direct on this site that I know of? I don't really want to do a blog per say, I know I can link to other sites, but what is the easiest way to simple get a picture on your TMP threads with out going to a site like photobucket which is virus filled and so bogged with ads it takes 5 minutes to load a pic.

Tinypic is pretty easy:

I use Flickr, too.

Is there a reason (other that the sheer size of the site storage) we cannot just upload pictures to TMP directly?

I mean on FB you simply post them to the thread… and yes it is a very different sort of operation.

But I am now posting on our Triumph game forum pictures directly as well?

So is it just a storage volume issues and cost or something else I don't understand?

Also, is there a way to link from something like I cloud Storage for example?

Team -- while it isn't free, try Smugmug. No ads, unlimited uploads.
And the results are spectacular see example

@Nashville,

I will take a look… right now looking into I Cloud because the Wife and I have IPhones and a new Granddaughter so we are already taking and filling our phones with Pics.

They post well from Twitter, Facebook and Blogger. They are free and you can make a private account and use it to host photos to TMP.

Ya use blogspot/blogger – all those image hosting sites are a pain.

I definitely need to find something as well, my project right now is to involved not to share. Even if no one wants to see.

I have a special blog just for posting images to TMP…what casual browsers must think of it if they visit I would love to see!

I've used Tinypic in the past but over the last couple of weeks I haven't been able to upload any photos.

Well, someone would have to do some coding to make that possible.

Plus considerations of the expense.

@Big Red,

How do you post direct from FB? I have only been able to posts links and the viewer must sign in to FB….?

Bunkermeister Supporting Member of TMP11 Jun 2017 8:26 p.m. PST

I think the expense would be worth the time and expense.

Apart from The Bug that goofs up posts, and the daily down time that locks us out of the site for hours per day, the single largest complaint seems to be how hard it is to post photos here. It's also disappointing when looking at an old post and find out that the original photo is no longer posted on the host site and we can't see it anymore.

I have only posted photos a few times because it's too hard.

Well, I thought I had posted from Facebook but I must be mistaken. Now all I can post is a link. Sorry for Big Red's Big Mouth.

I have also wanted to post pictures on a number of occasions, but I have been dissuaded because of the difficulty. In addition to the many miniature and gaming pictures that I wanted to post, last year I wanted to post on The Minaturespage Lounge the pictures of the three tornadoes that that I encountered on a single afternoon. Even those pictures were not worth the effort for a Luddite like me.

People are so used to being able to post pictures directly from cameras to a blog or facebook that it has become an essential item. Without such a facility I'm afraid TMP looks very dated.

It can be done, but I'll have to raise prices to cover it.

Big Red Supporting Member of TMP15 Jun 2017 7:27 a.m. PST

I'm interested. How much?

GarrisonMiniatures15 Jun 2017 10:06 a.m. PST

First I would try and solve bugs though – back to only having 2 items on front page!

jeffreyw318 Jun 2017 5:46 a.m. PST

Well, the poll was certainly conclusive. When do we start, Bill?

Ottoathome18 Jun 2017 7:31 a.m. PST

Don't bother bill. Most gamers are even worse photographers than they are painters.
