as i bought at excellent price a lot of tanks/AFV from De Agostini/Altaya i would like to ear, please, your opinion…do you , as i saw in many blogs, totally repaint them?..partially paint them (in a few case the semi gloss original paint is not too bad as in US Vehicles) or leave as tehy are?
many thanks

I usually use them as they are – maybe a little weathering.

If it needed a complete repaint then I'd start with a Rapid Build plastic or metal kit (if one was available).

I've done all three. I find that Dragon and Panzerstahl prepaints totally outclass my skills as a painter so I don't try to improve them. Easymodels I sometimes touch up a little and add stowage and weathering but most of the time they are great. Fabbri/Russkie Tanki/Tanki Mira, DeAgostini, Altaya, CinC on the other hand sometimes require complete repaints and additional stowage before being admitted onto the gaming table.

Depends.

Dragons I pretty much just weather them. Some of the others a full paint job.

I'm finding the cheaper models have crap molding with very soft detail.

Here's on of my Dragons with weathering and AB crew:

If you use only one tank in games or different tanks if more than one repainting is optional. If you want a squadron or platoon of the same tanks you should repaint them so their schemes would be consistent and you can renumber them consecutively.

strip 'em down totally and rebuild and repaint, but that's just me :o)
