Salutations!

Suggestions for a transparent acrylic paint with a non-gloss – indeed' an anti-gloss finish ?

The 'Army Painter Warpaints Anti-Shine' is almost what I'm looking for, but in bigger bottles to make it more convenient for mixing washes, etc.

thanks for any help you can give me with this.

Winsor & Newton Artists' Matt Varnish – you can brush this on or thin it and use an airbrush – the consistency will determine how matt the finish is. Or is it an acrylic medium you are looking for?

As above from Rick – sold in W&N's "Galeria" range – needs a blooming good shake before using to make sure the matt medium is mixed but it's been my go-to for years

Humbrol Mattcote

I use Wnsor Newton. Love it, and use it all the time. Two quick coats is usually enough to knock back all the shine on figures that I dip.

If you put it over a clear window it will cloud up. Of course so will other matte sprays so it probably won't be a problem for you. Just something to note.

If you're going to mix washes however, then an acrylic matte medium or a maybe some pledge future floor polish (mix with water and paint/ink) is what you need?

But if you use Pledge Future for your wash, you'll still need a matte final coating to kill the floor polish shine you get from Future.

I use DeltaCeramcoat matte interior varnish. That still has a little bit of a satin finish but it works OK for me.

I've been using the Army Painter anti-shine varnish over Pledge Future as described by ColCampbell above. It works well.

I use Winsor & Newton Artists' Matt Varnish usually. If I want a absolute dead finish I add a touch of Tamiya flat base to the W&N.

Vallejo Matt Medium diluted 50-50 with water makes an excellent matt finish. Covers well, durable, doesn't obscure details and is really flat.

Liquitex Matte Varnish.

Testors Dullcote is a lacquer, available in brush-on as well as aerosol. With clear top coats it is often an advantage to use a different solvent formulation so it does not reactivate the paint.
