Several folks here have cut plastic models down to waterline and used them for wargaming. I tried one a while back that didn't come out so great. I decided to try again.

Good job you tried again, that's lovely

Nicely done, just the right amount of rigging to make it believable.

That is a really well carried out model, nice work. Is PP 1/450th the new de-facto sailing ship scale?

Must Contain Minis06 Jun 2017 3:11 a.m. PST

Looks great!

Very well done Vol, I like a lot. You have taken advantage very well of a rather poor model in the detail, congrats! If the experience has been positive, I recommend you ZVezda models 1/350, has 4 ships for Armada.

Best regards,
Julián

Do I love you, or hate you?
I think, hate you!
You can paint and you can post photo's on T.M.P.
Nice one Vol, nice. Thanks for showing this master piece.
Waiting for the next one my friend.
Be safe

VERY cool Vol, well done! What sort of thread did you use to rig this beauty?

phssthpok06 Jun 2017 2:38 p.m. PST

Thank you for the inspiration. I have four of those and many others awaiting the same attention.

Martin, PP 1/450 might become so if you did some more models in the range (hint, hint) :)

A ha!

David Manley07 Jun 2017 4:48 a.m. PST

Some galleys, schooners, Xebecs and big gunboats would be nice Martin :)

Volunteer Fezian07 Jun 2017 8:52 a.m. PST

Thank you for the nice comments all.

James, I just used some waxed cotton thread. My usual fly thread was too thin.

Martin, ditto what David says.

Julian, Zvezda is in my future with your build as inspiration.
