Looking into the above for war gaming. Unfortunately outside of British and French there are no general or personality figures in plastic or metal. If you game this period what do you do?

Move to TOTS..The One True Scale

Seriously though, find that hard to believe, as an agnostic to 1/72 I do have the impression that the figures are actually better animated, proportioned and varied.

I do hope you get a far more sensible and helpful answer. Certainly, if I was starting again ….

Plastic Soldier Review is the best source of all figures 1/72nd scale:

Dantheman, your initial premise about the availability of figures is mistaken. See Strelits, Italieri and Waterloo 1815 on totokchar's PSR link.

Newline and Kennington have them in lead.

Your are mistaken.

PSR was mentioned. Relevant for plastic figures. For metals, you will check out this site:

Italeri do a box of Austrian and Russian Staff figures in 1/72

Hello. Waterloo 1815, Art Miniturian, Franznap, Newline, SHQ Hagen Minitures to name a few.

Hat if you can get them although I believe that they are a restock, the mounted officers.

The quality of some of these is in my opinion just as good as 28mm.

Although French the Waterloo Ney and staff by Massimo is excellent, as is the Wellington set. I know that is a bit off subject but I have used it to emphasise the point.

Best wishes,

Chris

I may have some I don't need. What specifically are you looking for. PM'd you as well

Art Miniaturen and Hagen Miniatures in Germany sell a wide selection. Franznap make lovely Saxon, Baden,Austrian and Neapolitan command figures

Lovely wide choice in metal. Let alone the many many plastics mentioned above

Good luck Dan. I have never regretted going to 1/72

One more question. I can't find any Austrian 1805 uniforms other than Italeri sets that are hard to find. I see HAT has a set frozen in production. Anything else out there?

Marc at work08 Jun 2017 5:24 a.m. PST

The old Esci sets also worked, but whether they are available is anybody's' guess (assuming you mean helmet, not casquet equipped troops).

The HaT sets do not look like they will appear any year soon, so don't plan your build around them. Sorry

Marc

Mind you, if you are doing 1805, you will soon find that the French sets from HaT in the bicorne are OOP as well, and never seem to be re-released
