I may be going to Australia next year and I would love to work a good Historical Convention into the Trip . Any suggestions ?

The con scene isn't as large as other places, and there hasn't been one that focuses purely on historical gaming.

January, Cancon in Canberra
October, MOAB in Sydney

Others will chime in

Dosent have to be purely historical , just a good attempt !

You really need to indicate what time of year and general area – East, West, North or South? Only wargames or Historical Re-enactment without wargames?

If you are in Melbourne at the right time , Little Wars is good . A very small event compared to others but for the locals its quite good . cheers Tom

When is Little Wars? (I have to travel to Melbourne frequently -- so I should 'adjust' my work travel)

McWong7304 Jun 2017 9:08 p.m. PST

Little Wars isn't running this year afaik, much to my annoyance.

Usually in the last week of May. It's not happened this year, and no guarantees for next year either. We live in hope.

Cancon is the biggie, timed to coincide with the January long weekend (usually around 25 January), it is the only Australian Con that approaches anything like the scale of the biggest US & UK ones. Details via Canberra Games Society. cgs.asn.au
