"Played my first game of Blood Bowl" Topic

My husband is a hardcore Blood bowl collector. And I mean HARDCORE.

He has played the game since the beginning. He has well over 1,500 figures. Atleast 12 different boards(pitch's)and he has a love of the special block dice. I don't know how many sets of the dice he has, but its alot.

So for a gift, I got him the new Blood Bowl set. He did'nt buy it, as we just bought a house, and we have been tight on money. One of my customers owns a gaming store, and I traded him paint work for the box set. Worked out great! And my husband was so happy!

So, we played our first match with the humans and orc's in the box. I had humans he has orc's.

Its a fun game! I don't game much, I play RISK, and Axis and Allies, but thats about it. But I had fun playing Blood Bowl! I won't go into a play by play, but my humans won, 2-0.He may have let me win, but who cares?

My husband has several Amazon teams, and I may paint up a team of amazons, and really kick his butt!

I've heard so much about this game over the years, but never bought into it. Until the newest box game appeared! The new release fixed the only thing I had trouble with; the old figures were so painfully 1980s GW style. The new ones are amazing. Add the fact the local game store was planning a Tuesday night BB league, and the result was that my friend and I immediately bought everything.

Sadly, although I painted up my team, my friend's work schedule has changed and the store still hasn't set up league night. So I'm still waiting to play…

I had a bunch of teams. And I loved the 80s style minis, dam' yer eyes!

My problem was that nobody else in my group wanted to play.
