Greetings to Everyone,

After some years of activities on other fronts, I decided to return back to the SeeKrieg's seas and I would like to return with a huge project, bigger than my previous ones, please let me spend few words to describe it.

It will be a strategic/tactical pbem game, combining SKV's Rules for the tactical section with an old Italian naval game's Rules (revised for the occasion) for the strategic part.
The game will cover the very first months of the Mediterranean WWII struggle from June to October 1940, with naval, aerial and submarine forces belonging to the British Mediterranean Fleet and to the Italian Regia Marina.
135 ships, 119 submarines and 22 different types of airplanes, whose full list is here downloadable: PDF link

Players will be divided in two teams, the British and the Italian Team structured as follows:

- One player per team will assume the role of C-in-C (the First Lord of the Sea for the British and the Chief of Staff of Supermarina for the Italian).
His main task will be to organize, at a strategic level, his forces and decide the overall strategy appointing the team's players to the various high commands during the game and instructing them.

- The rest of the team's players will be appointed commander of sections of the Mediterranean fronts, fleets, divisions or any other subdivision of forces requested by the C-in-C.
Their task will be to rule the assigned forces to a strategic level and to take command of naval forces at sea when engaged in tactical battles.
In these latter occasions their first task will be to divide and organize the forces under their command among (ALL) the team's players who will play the role of subordinate leaders in the tactical games.

To play the game I will use my own rules for the strategic game: PDF link
and the help of a free software support (VASSAL) very usefull and wide adopted for boardgames, downloadable here vassalengine.org for Win or Linux PCs, for whom I realized a dedicated "mod" here downloadable
Vassal vmod link
Vassal vsav link

VASSAL is quite simple to use, all you have to do is select a unit or a stack of unit and drag them around on the map, or right-click on them for special functions.
To launch a scenario double click on the SKV-Mediterranean.vsav file after the installation of VASSAL.

For the tactical game part I will use my standard pdf and excell files as previous saw in my old games.

The big news for this new adventure is that in this game I will not require such strictly secrecy I adopt in my last games.
Players will be free to communicate between them and debate their strategic choices during the strategic part of the game.
Some enforced protocols of secrecy will be established during the tactical part of the game, when two opposed fleets will engage each other under the conditions developped in the strategic game.

I do not conceal that it will be a loooong game, played more or less with a weekly rate.
Players will be involved both in the strategic and in the tactical section of the game, and with the organization of the game I established the higher strategic commanders will play subordinates roles in the tactical phases and viceversa.

So, if you are interested to partecipate to this project, and you are not scared (or at least not much than I am), let me know it dropping a line to me at tombesis@alice.it.
I suppose than the game will begin next month (July) so we will have all the time to discuss particulars and evaluate proposal in a open discussion.
Let me also know which kind of role and faction you would like to play, i.e. C-in-C or subordinate British or Italian leader. I will try to satisfy your request, but I would take into account the option to make a balanced game first.

Thank you for your attention and sorry for my bad English, you may donwload all the zipped files here: link
