I was inspired by Karl's 15mm 40K project TMP link so I decided to start one of my own. My printer is a DaVinci Pro 1.0. The Space Marines below were printed by me in ABS filament. The Dreadnought and Predator I bought from Tony TMP link
from whom I bought my first 3D printed models ever.

All the files I used are available on Thingiverse and I used Tinkercad to scale them down. I will post more on my blog wargamer1972.blogspot.com as the project evolves. My son wants to do 15mm withe me too as well as my solo-wargaming buddy.

Resized these guys from Epic 40K to 15mm. I am happy with how they printed out.

Are you able to take closer pics with better light to see the detail?

Fascinating thread Brigadier. Please keep updating as your project progresses!

Each vehicle took about an hour and half to print. The marines about 30 minutes for 4. I've been so fascinated by my printer I seem to bounce from project to project as I find new and intriguing things to print.

My brother purchased a decent printer a few months ago (can't remember the make, but it has a 14" plate and is capable of printing anything up to 14" of height as well. Cost well over $1,000 USD). Maybe I can buy some rolls of plastic and I can "borrow" his printer :). These look great.

We also found with test figures and research that there is a certain black primer (I think its automotive) that is recommended to mitigate a lot of any layering textures. What do you use?

Hi brigadier- really nice there. A glimpse of the future! What is the finest resolution you can get with your DaVinci? Can it knock out 1mm walls?

.2 is the best I can configure.
