My Space Dorks arrived from the SLAP Miniatures kickstarter, and I have to say that they are wonderful little models that I look forward to painting. With them came the mystery stretch goal figure. I had to do a bit of research to work out who he is, but I'm sure most of you will recognise him as a 15mm version of an old classic. link |

Hello Ralph, So you are the masterful painter who already has his "father" nearly finished! The Mystery Mini was actually a commission I paid Stu for, and then we decided that it would be a great idea to send it to the backers! That way, the Cult will hopefully spread and you all will enjoy painting it. I really hope you like him! It is an old favorite of mine back from the time when I played Rogue Trader. I just got my box full of them the day before yesterday. Btw: I still have a couple of minis from the casting. |

Hi Fincas, He's all finished now, unfortunately blogger isn't letting me link direclty to an image so I've had to put just the link to the blog in my original post. He's a lovely model to paint, I had a chat to Stu about who he is and where to go for references so I could try to get him painted reasonably faithfully! I really should thank you for commissioning him and both you and Stu for agreeing to include it with the pledges! |

I don't recognize it. I think I have a rough guess, but exactly, no idea….. Amazing paint job by the way…. |

I think it looks like Conan sitting on his throne? A four armed alien Conan? You did a fab job though. |

I finished mine yesterday night. It pales when compared with Ralph's magnificent paintjob, but I'm pretty happy with it! link |

Very nice Fincas. Those 28mm arms on the 15mm orc work surprisingly well! |

Truly fantastic figure. I'd love to get this figure and see the line expanded. |

Thanks, Ralph. The trick is to shorten the lower parts. Wiv da help of Konvertit my faithful Gretchin assisstant and da handy bone saw, Dokk Butcha simply kutz through dem arms, and glues da hand back into place. It really amazing just how much of 28mm stuff works well in 15mm. Nearly all of those very realistically proportioned historical plastic sets can be butchered a little to be of use as heroic 18 (sometimes 20) mm stuff. |

I'm very pleased with my Dorks! They stand up very nicely next to Vanguard's Skinnerz and add a fair amount of character. |

I haven't bought any Vanguard Skinners yet. Glad to hear they mix well. |

The Vanguard skinners are very nice models, but IMO they suffer from not enough variety in the packs. Yet, the cannons and Nobz are very nice, and it will be exciting to see what else they will produce. PS: The Vanguard marines are excellent and mix nicely with SLAP marines, actually it also possible to kitbash both…will post pictures soon on my LAF thread. |

Javelin can you post some comps of the dorks and skinners ? I have the skinners and I was wondering that with the dirks…his they scale. Those skinners power armor suits are stunning minis by the way. |
