Now I had feared for the Westfalia range once changed hands. I was sure production would continue but would we see any further expansion in the range? Fear not. Just noticed that Black hussar Miniatures are about to add Saxon Hussars to the Light Dragoons they already do

This is from their Facebook thingy (the sort of thing I tend to avoid…) But looks like a really nice range. Would love to see the Dragoons painted up!

I'm wondering whether I couldn't kitbash these from French heads and the Perry plastic British Husssars. |

Khusrau: I'd be curious if it works, as I have tons of extra French heads. :) |

The challenge would be the very distinctive shabraque, pointed end as for Guard Light Cavalry. Not the sheepskin of French Line light cavalry or the saddles of British with the smaller blanket. Lots of Greenstuff needed…. Most hussars of the era make for a simple enough head swap let's face it. British kit/equipment is a bit distinctive, as per Perry plastics, but their French, with Perry Prussian infantry shakos instead, easy… as for how close these are…no idea. We waited a year or more for the Dragoons, but I guess that was due to the change in ownership |

Well I will stop being a Doubting Thomas. I see an advert on the Homepage saying these are now on sale and, sure enough….. link So now I must get the 71st and 52nd done. Plus the rest of the lead mountain, but then these and the Saxon Light Dragoons would make a nice project! |
