I've recently bought some 1/3000 navwar modern ships. They look great, but I've no clue how to start painting them (I mostly do 28/20mm figures).

Can anyone share some good hints or guides?

What I've been doing…

Clean up the castings, then glue to their bases.
Spray the whole thing grey (I'm currently using Tamiya Haze Grey).
Put a black wash over the deck and super structure.

For NATO style (Dark grey decks light sides) you just need to hightlight the upper works and tidy up the sides.

For Soviet style you'll need to do the decks in your choice of the reddish brown/green they favoured and then grey hightlight on the uperwork and tidy up the sides as before.

Cheers
David
