I am venturing out of my 28mm skirmish comfort zone and building up forces for South African intervention in Angola. What would you suggest to use on the table to represent the scrub bushes that cover the area? UK or EU sources only as shipping from the US is prohibitive and we don't have Hobby Lobby or Michaels over here! |

This is just based on a quick Google search. Just clumps of green lichen, maybe glued to card bases if you want something that won't stray from where you put it? To those you could add tufts of long grass. Nothing you won't find in a model railway shop. Trees, tending to be small. Angola can look surprisingly green – it depends on the season. Roads, maybe halfway between light brown and orange? The soil looks quite red. Field soil – if well-manured – not so red. |
