We tried our first game for the French Indian Wars using our modified character cards etc for 7TV A fun and fast paced adventure! You can see how we did it and the outcome on our blog at: link |

Corporal, this is one of the best AAR's I've seen for a long while. The names alone are worth the price of admission. I've been feeling the pull of the FIW for some time now, and as 54mm is my chosen scale this ticked all the boxes nicely. Very clever of you to adapt 7TV for such a game. It is a strong rules engine and always produces a good game. Just curious, have you ever tried Musket and Tomahawk? If I were to do such a project those would probably be the first rules I'd check out. One final question: what brand of figures are you using? It's a little hard to tell from the photos. Thanks for sharing! |

Hi GF thanks for the feedback – it was a fun game. We have both the 7TV and Muskets and Tomahawks rules. The M and S rules probably handle bigger games more easily – but I am pretty confident that 7TV can do the same. I also feel 7TV is a much better constructed game from a mechanics point of view – it enables skirmish with a large dose of roleplaying too. We played a few M and T games but they felt a little shallow when compared to 7TV. The figures are mostly plastic – the usual suspects Accurate, Armies in Plastic, old Barzso and Marx type finds – we even have some of the very nice Irregular Miniatures 54mm metals. It is a shame more manufacturers don't produce in this period as I know it is a popular size and genre for many games around the world. |

Hi Dan – an excellent rules system from Crooked Dice: link Most of the people I play with who have played these rules – love them. We converted them to work in another period |

Not sure if such genres are of interest, but I'd also highly recommend 7th Voyage, their rules for Greek Myth/Arabian Nights games. |
