OK, after finishing my first Big Battle OHW for my old club, I decided to double-check and see if one matchup was a bit lop-sided. This led to a detailed discussion of both the tactics and the decisions that needed to be made, with lots of pics, here:

A Welsh force defends the high ground v. attacking Feudal English. What are the options? See for yourself.

And then…?

I am unfamiliar with OHW rules, but that post did take a lot of effort, and is well thought out about what options are presented in the scenario.

I enjoyed reading through the decision points.

thanks stew.
Like a lot of old geezers from the 70s and 80s gaming era, I was a bit of a snob about simpler rule sets. I've eaten a large amount of crow since I followed the advice of some TMPers and bought this book, along with some of my gaming pals.

The saga of crow eating is scattered around in our blogs, but the above is the most directly related to the book. My efforts have lately been to do WWII fleet actions in a OHW style, but those are here:

recipes for crow are also to be found on the web! ;)

Thank you so much for sharing your work and your analysis. I am in the record as a huge OHW fan, and I think you really demonstrate the value of good scenarios that is applicable to any game system.
