Are these figures any good? Or do they just paint up well? How accurate are they? Or should I just wait for the Baccus line?

Cant comment on their accuracy. I like Irregulars 6mm stuff. Lots of people do not. Baccus are probably better sculpted and generally reasonably accurate. I just don't see Baccus as that much better than the other brands of 6mm figures. Sorry I know this is not helpful since I waffle. As I said I like Irregular. Buy a small sample.

Irregular 6mm are very much like their other ranges--look awful in bare metal and often quite wonderful when painted. It sounds odd, but we comment on it all the time with their figures in our armies. If you get samples, do not evaluate based on bare metal--paint first, then evaluate.

Irregular 6mm are sculpted in a rough, chunky style. They look almost crude in bare metal, but given a paint job, especially with a dry brush, they look great.

Does anyone else make 6mm figures suitable for the french wars of religion?

bruntonboy24 May 2017 12:48 p.m. PST

I have to agree with the above comments, ther is something magical about Irregulars figures in any scale. They look crude and poor in the bare metal but then just look great when painted. So many people I know have said the same (independently). There must be some alchemy at work here. They also have a magically rapid delivery service too.

I have over 35 armies of 6mm figures and all of them before WW II are from Irregular Miniatures. If you use strong, bright colours on a black undercoat and base them on light coloured bases you can't go far wrong.
