No, you didn't. Unless you like lot's of DRAMA-ILAMA! I should trademark that. |

Yeah. You missed the Might of the Long Knives. |

"Snobbish British and Arrogant Yanks" that sounds like an awesome title for a book about conjoined twins with different citizenships! Dan PS. Or the name of my own personal republic, if I ever become ruler of some nation populated mostly by people of those two groups. :) |
David Manley | 19 May 2017 11:29 a.m. PST |
Sounds like the perfect title for a set of AWI rules, so at least something good has come out of the ongoing car crash that continues to unfold below :) |
Cacique Caribe | 19 May 2017 11:32 a.m. PST |
David, that works great too! Or even for the War of 1812 (AWI Part Deux). Dan |

Personally I think it's the next Kickstarter RPG Title…. "Dropped in the heart of Manhattan – you have but one goal : a proper cup of tea. But where in this sea of arrogant Yanks will you find such a thing?" |
15th Hussar | 19 May 2017 11:39 a.m. PST |
Actually, New Yorkers are a rather decent bunch, by and large & most helpful too. There are several decent tea joynte's in all five boroughs, except maybe Staten island…😉 |
Cacique Caribe | 19 May 2017 11:52 a.m. PST |
I can't seem to find the cartoon (or was it a movie?) with a two-headed giant fighting itself. I guess this will just have to do for now. Dan PS. Or it might have been a two-headed cyclops, which would make more sense. Together we have one good pair of eyes, but they're always out of sync. :)

Would rather be drinking gin in London – hell anywhere – then tea in NY or anywhere. Course it's a matter of beverage choice. Locale is never an issue… Whiskey will do too, as will rum, scotch, bourbon or saki.Cheers! Slainte! It's always 5 PM somewhere… :) |

While I'm aware that Bill as editor would have a much better feel on the pulse of TMP than just about anyone, but did I just miss something? More accurately, "a few snobby Brits, and accusations about arrogant Yanks by someone who then ran away…" It's good for the hobby to have these frank discussions once in a while. |

Is it good for the hobby to purge almost everyone who disagrees with you? Is it my turn to get the pitchforks and torches? |
Editor in Chief Bill | 19 May 2017 1:47 p.m. PST |
Is it good for the hobby to purge almost everyone who disagrees with you? I don't mind if someone disagrees with me. People who discourage others from advertising or becoming Supporting Members do not deserve to be part of the community. It would be financial folly to allow them to remain on the forums. Sock puppets need to be purged. In many cases, it is the same half-dozen people over and over, making their snarky remarks or pretending to offer advice. Their accounts get locked, they sneak back in, they get locked again… that's the cycle. People who cannot participate in a forum discussion without making attacks on their fellow gamers need to be removed, if they cannot control themselves. As I have said before, I am raising the standard. I don't mind if TMP has fewer members, if we can leave the mean and snarky ones behind, the ones who add so much negativity to the site. |
Bangorstu | 19 May 2017 2:07 p.m. PST |
Bill, if people who attack fellow gamers need to be removed then your current behaviour suggests a period of silence on your part. |
Editor in Chief Bill | 19 May 2017 2:09 p.m. PST |
Bill, if people who attack fellow gamers need to be removed then your current behaviour suggests a period of silence on your part. Why don't you discuss specifics with me in private, Bangorstu? Your viewpoint is always sanguinary. |
Bangorstu | 19 May 2017 3:26 p.m. PST |
Merely holding you to the standards you publically set. |

More accurately, "a few snobby Brits, and accusations about arrogant Yanks by someone who then ran away…" Does refusing to give satisfactory examples of an astonishing assertion count as running away? It's good for the hobby to have these frank discussions once in a while. And I was beginning to doubt that Bill has a sense of humour! |

Cacique Caribe | 20 May 2017 12:39 p.m. PST |
Lol. I forgot most of my Latin, so I just googled "I prefer to play with little men". Dan |

"…refusing to acknowledge the evidence?" The evidence that has been presented is thin, to say the least, which is why a great many people are having a hard time believing you when you assert that it isn't an issue and when others on both sides of the pond are telling you it isn't) |

What about avoiding the question while refusing to acknowledge the evidence? Be happy to answer that question when I see the evidence. All objections have been duly noted. And ignored or treated with disdain. |

The evidence that has been presented is thin, to say the least, which is why a great many people are having a hard time believing you when you assert that it isn't an issue and when others on both sides of the pond are telling you it isn't) Nobody is forced to believe me. Judge for yourselves. And ignored or treated with disdain. I know what I have seen. I stand by what I have said. If my opinion offends you, I am sorry. |

Sometimes the sensible thing is not to ask the question in the first place, because it achieves nothing but stirring up trouble for the sake of it. Sadly the people who should show the most restraint are often the ones who show the least… |
