Inspired by Miniwargaming's newest campaign, "Augustine's Wreckage," that combines Necromunda and Shadow War: Armageddon, I'm wondering if anybody knows of any good plastic Necromunda Miniatures? |
Pictors Studio | 18 May 2017 2:23 p.m. PST |
GW had the plastics that came with the boxed set back in the day. I have a pile of them lying around here actually. There are also the Catachans. They would be a nice basis for some Necromunda gangs, like the Orlocks. link link link link |

Frostgrave plastic cultists box plus the add on weapons sets. |

Not a lot of variety in poses, but these might do for the tech savy bunch (Van Sarr?): link These have more of a post-apoc vibe: link And poke around these pics (the mercs and civilians might work for you): link |

Pig Iron – Kolony Ferals…not plastic but great stand-ins for Gangers until GW gets their act together. |

'Infinity' Haqqislam or Nomads would make a passable substitute for Van Saar:
These are actual GW Van Saar gangers:

Heresy Miniatures makes WONDERFUL not-Delaque Trenchcoat gangers. They're amazing. Can't recommend them highly enough: link |

Its been too long since I've looked at the Heresy Miniatures. They are wonderful. As for plastic, wouldn't some the genestealer cult plastics work? |
haywire | 19 May 2017 4:15 p.m. PST |
The last few White Dwarf had some Van Saar/Inquisitor conversions in the Blanchitsu sections using the genestealer neophyte hybrids. link Eldar Guardians work as well, just remove the gems and use a human head and maybe a backpack to hide the back.
Catachans make great orlocks. Chaos Marauders make great Goliaths Dark Elf Witches can be converted for Escher |
sykoholic001 | 19 May 2017 7:37 p.m. PST |
The only "official" plastic Necromunda figures were the Orlocks and Goliaths that came with the original game. Mad Robot Miniatures sells bits that will make not-VanSaars which they call "Vanderbilts". Put Catachan arms on Chaos Marauders to make pseudo Goliaths link Frostgrave Cultists with Mad Robot's "Shocktrooper" arms or Victoria's "Winter Arms" would make decent Cawdor or Redemptionists. Anvil Industries has a sprue of hooded heads in their Exo-Lords range if you prefer a more non-psycho-cultist look. Wargames Factory's "Greatcoat Shocktroops" (if you can find them) with Mad Robot's "Greatcoat" arms and MaxMini's "Ash Junker" heads would make good Delaque. As suggested, Dark Elf Witches and Dark Eldar Wyches can be used as Escher. Catachan Jungle Fighters are WAY more muscular than Orlocks were but they'll still work just fine. Lessee… Orlock, Escher, Goliath, Cawdor, Delaque, Van Saar… did I forget any of the originals? |

Nope, that's six! Put Catachan arms on Chaos Marauders to make pseudo Goliaths Cool, I never thought of that one! |

The ones I built… link The arms are meant to hold guns while the torsos are meant for sword-and-shield arms so the fit is a bit of a . Some greenstuff and Marauder/Ork shoulder pads fixes that right up tho. |

Those look really good. Impressive conversions. Do you have pictures of them painted? Do you only use them for Necromunda or do you use them for bigger scale games too? |
sykoholic001 | 21 May 2017 11:27 a.m. PST |
Painted? My minis? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I'm more of a builder/collector and don't really play much. My minis really aren't intended for any specific game system so they could easily be used for just about anything. |

Thanks for the suggestions, they have really helped. But, does anybody know of any good Ash Waste Nomad gang miniatures besides Pig Iron Productions? They sold out of Kolony Feral Infantry. |
sykoholic001 | 21 May 2017 9:44 p.m. PST |
Frostgrave Soldiers (or Cultists) with MadRobot Rolled Sleeve arms and either Skitarii Ranger heads, heads from Frostgrave Cultists with respirators from the Cadian Command sprue, or PigIron Kolony Rebel heads with greenstuff hoods, …. at least that's what I plan on doing anyways. The original Ash Waste Nomad minis were utter crap IMHO… obvious and poorly done conversions. Also… if you're looking for Escher alternatives, you might want to check out Raging Heroes' Jailbirds. A tad pricey but… |
sykoholic001 | 22 May 2017 5:51 p.m. PST |
Rather than Frostgrave Soldiers/Cultists for the bodies, you might also consider WFB/W:AoS (whatever it's called this month) Empire Flagellants Not my work nor meant to be Ash Waste Nomads but it's a good example of using Flagellant bodies:
|
PMC317 | 23 May 2017 2:36 a.m. PST |
Ash Waste Nomads – I actually rather like the original figures, but there we go. Anyway, other options: I really like the Flagellants plus FW bits, but also consider Em-4 Scavvies, Copplestone Castings scavengers, and Pig Iron stuff too. |
sykoholic001 | 23 May 2017 2:49 p.m. PST |
Victoria Miniatures makes a set of "Winter Arms" (long sleeves, big gloves, small shoulder plate) that could be used instead of the more expense FW bits. Another use for Flagellants (Does anyone else get that word confused with "flatulence"?) is add some some Mad Robot bare arms and some WFB/AoS Dark Elf heads and you've got some decent stand-ins for the rare Necromunda Chaos Cultists link |
sykoholic001 | 23 May 2017 3:53 p.m. PST |
Frostgrave Soldiers with Cultist heads and Victoria Miniatures arms and guns. Again, these are not my work… as should be obvious by the fact that they're painted. ;)

Anybody know any good Not-Redemptionist Miniatures? |
sykoholic001 | 27 May 2017 10:09 a.m. PST |
That could be tough. Redemptionists had a very specific look: full robes, hoods, masks, flame-throwers, chainsaws, etc.
Would kit-bashes suffice? |
Narwhal King | 27 May 2017 11:44 a.m. PST |
Yes, but I would prefer if anybody knows just some conversion parts. EX: Kromlech, Anvil Industry, etc. |
sykoholic001 | 27 May 2017 11:59 a.m. PST |
Conversion… gotcha. What are you using as "base" figures? (Note: I might have my terminology mixed up. To me, "conversion" is changing a pre-existing figure. "Kit-bashing" is taking bits and pieces to construct a whole new figure.) You also might consider the House Crowmantian figures from Miniatures of the North (sold thru Anvil Industry)
Not particularly fond of them myself but… |
Narwhal King | 27 May 2017 12:21 p.m. PST |
I'm mainly just using random bits I have, so I'm mostly looking for some good hooded heads and maybe some robes |
sykoholic001 | 27 May 2017 1:30 p.m. PST |
Hooded heads Anvil Industry Exo-Lord Hooded Heads
MaxMini Brotherhood Heads
If you REALLY want the masks, the best I can suggest is some greenstuff hoods on Secret Weapon's Oni Masks
As for Robed Bodies, I'd go with either Empire Flagellants or Skaven Pestilens (with the tails removed and feet swapped out, obviously). |
