Hi Gents,
After a rather lengthy 2.5 month hiatus from painting Calpe Prussians beacause of my Vimy Ridge project, I finished up this reserve regiment.

I know they did not carry flags but I decided to give mine some anyway. I also painted the officers in grey overcoats, who wants to be a target of French skirmishers!

Comments are welcome.
Cheers,
Thomas

Shades of Grey!

Very well done. My Reserve Regts carry flags as well, because, well, they SHOULD have (and maybe like the Landwehr, some did anyway).

Very Well done!
The approach I took for my modeled 1813 Army, was
this:
1) typically there were 1 lieb ( exceptions 11th & 12th Selesian) + 4 regt colors available per Prussian issuance.
2) 1807/8 the "2 field" musketeers were carrying 2 flags per, per the old format, then it was reduced to 1 ea prior to 1813, so flags were available.
3) In 1813, the reserve battalion were 4, 5 & 6 depot battalions of a parent regiment.
4) So I have 2 of 3 of the reserve btns carry the regiment color associated with the parent or a made up version very similar (of the SYW reserve format w/o central eagle and crown) to that of the parent flag.

Beautiful painting and basing! Should make those Marie-Louise fellows quake in their boots.

Thanks Chaps!

MG, this is the 24th Battalion, I have the 23 painted as well. I like your idea of using the depot flags. Cheers!

It's interesting, when I look at these photos, I see things I missed. Completely missed painting the shoulder wings on the Fusilier battalions bugler!

Thanks Paxx.
Yes lots of figures, thus far:
Line battalions 26
Landwehr battalions 25
Cavalry 20 regiments
Artillery 15 batteries
Skirmish stands 6
Command stands 10
I didn't paint all of them, some of our group helped paint 4 battalions of line.
Almost done!
