The official game of miniatures based on the Iron Throne is previewed at The GameWire and this CMON / Dark Sword co-production is the logical continuation of the projects developed by these two designers. It will be a 28mm game with at the moment the two flagship factions of the saga.

Geek site gave good run down of game play.

Here's the comment I left:

A good run down but I would like to have more information about the actual combat system – you mentioned armor saves but little else.

Alternating activations a major concern. This is not how medieval armies worked. They fought in battlelines with the entire line advancing not individual units dashing around.

Would have prefered a more historical based combat system as this is more in keeping with the books and even Battle of the Bastards. Maybe something more like DBX groups will be added. Also a bit concerned about the card play – looks a bit gamey.

Still miniatures look pretty good and more book than Hobo based.

Great subject matter and it does seem much better than Warhammer 8th edition.

And much much better than Age of Silly.
