Here are 2 examples of how 3D models can be used to assist the making of top quality structures. The first one is laser-cut shapes plus 3dp finishings. The second one is ink-jet printing of shapes plus papercraft finishing. link YouTube link |

Smart. I know I tend to think it terms of printing a whole model, but printing key/rare elements or, as in the link, printing and then making a mold, are great uses. |

Personally, I can see a huge market in this sort of thing. Pick any popular video game. What prevents you from building a game-board with that "look"? Details, my friend. Vents, computers, desks, file cabinets, door molds, window frames… Sob. Yes, I'm having problems sourcing for my Fallout Vault. Forgive me…I'm obsessed right now. |
