"Sean Chick's Horse & Musket is a simple tactical game system covering musket warfare from Vienna in 1683 to Appomattox in 1865. This first volume in the series, Dawn of an Era, covers warfare in the west from 1683-1719, which saw matchlock muskets and pikes give way to flintlocks and bayonets. What size are the hexes?

It looks good except the unit counters are tiny compared to the hexes. They did this right though. I like the idea of a customizable board so you can play many many battles.

Otto, the counters are specified as 5/8" so looking at them on the board I'd say 2" hexes side to side. Maybe a shade larger, since they say a 33" x 17" board, and it looks very like the "standard" 13x9 C&C hex layout. But I think most of us, if we bought it, would use our own miniatures on our own hexes.

Dear Robert

Thanks. I had a devil of a time trying to figure out scale. I never imagined those counters could be the troops.

It does let you out multiple counters in a hex without stacking.

A very good point. But if you only have one counter in the hex, it does look pretty lonely. wink

BTW, if you don't want to pay the $85 USD price tag, they also have it in PDF for $15. USD link
