Some of my GW Uruk Hai scout plastic figures don't have shields. I'd like them all to have them. Any suggestions for making or converting shields? I would not mind round shields, but would prefer something angular, They don't have to look just like the originals. thanks andy |

Saruman's ones are described in LotR as having round shields. Just sayin'… John T |

If you pick up the Red Box Fantasy 1/72 "Half Orcs", you could clip the shields off… they bear a striking (but purely coincidental) similarity fo the Peter Jackson Uruks. 1/72 is smaller than GW's 25mm+ LOTR line, but not by much. If you just are talking about shields, it should work well. You can find the sets on ebay. |

I would have thought that Uruk Hai shields could be quite easily mocked up using some scrap plastic sheet. |

Try something like this. Look at the #3 tack. auction |

I'm not trying to match LotR books. I do Tolkien-inspired, but not refights. These are just my bigger orcs to the smaller orcs (Moria goblins). Actually, I think of all of them as goblins, and my battles as on the border of Faerie, in a not-so-cute sort of way. I may try with scrap sheet, but I'm not sure of my ability to make 8 that look good. andy |

Andy, why not make an Instant Mould and cast them in Green Stuff? Dan PS. Or … just trim these things to the desired shape and size (or trace): auction auction |

The nails idea is nifty, thanks. I'll have to ask daughter about them. My son has some of that instant mold stuff, I think. Maybe I could make one and cast copies. thanks andy |

I really like the Upholstery Nail idea. |
