I was kicking ideas around for this earlier whilst on my evening walk. I actually think this is fairly doable. Imperial or Late Roman would work quite well for Imperial troops. Saxons/Vikings for Nords. Samurai with different paint jobs for Orcs. The elf range from Red Box for The Aldemeri Dominion. Lizard folk from Caesar I believe? Either way I know there is a Lizard people 1/72 set. The only real head scratcher is Khajit. Anyone else have any ideas they want to contribute? I think this may be my next big project now that my Song of Arthur and Merlin project is wrapping up. I've even been tinkering with my own rules for the setting. Seems a setting ripe for wargaming. |

Strelets' Dark Ages sets are very paintable: link link link I'd think you could find a use for many of these figures. |

This seems doable. I don't know your scale, but trolling for Heroclix, then stripping them and repainting them can work wonders when you're stumped for a solution to a modelling problem. It's ho I'm doing Drow. |

They would be pretty small but these 15mm cat people may work? link |

Even though the legs differ..the Leonines are likely the closest thing. |

This is an awesome idea! I hope you post more on this. |

Chgowiz, I will definitely be posting more on this. The Ogre, yeah those would work but I'd like to stick to 1/72 if I can just to match scales up. I think I'm gonna do some searching today and see what I can come up with. Most of the armies are pretty doable. I plan on modeling the armies of Tamriel as they are in the 4th Era during the time preceding the game Skyrim. So the main armies I'm looking at are Aldemeri, Imperial, and Stormcloak. Those three I think will actually be really easy to do. I'd like to have some Argonian and Khajit models on hand to spice up the Imperial ranks, as I seem to recall reading in game lore that mentioned the Imperial often fielded provincial auxiliary. |

Are you going to do the Dunmer as different colored elves? How about the Bosmer? The Redguard? You also have the Forsworn which should be easy with using indigenous style figures. The Falmer would be a fascinating set to do… perhaps goblins could fit? Now I'm wanting to do this for HOTT! :D This thread could be dangerous! |

Chgowiz, The Dunmer I was thinking of doing with Arab infantry units painted a darker grayish color and red eyes. It's not exactly correct but it's the closest to the right aesthetic that I can think of. Like you said Forsworn shouldn't be hard. Some of the shirtless Red Box Picts, some various native figures etc. I hadn't thought ahead to Falmer really. I'm glad your liking the idea. Right now I'm also debating whether to use an existing rule set or right my own. I've done a great deal of research through the lore and for some reason I'm getting the bug to write my own rules for this. |

@Arkansan – the Dunmer armor makes it hard to match it up with some historical, that's for sure. Between the Redoran, Indoril and Telvanni, there were huge differences! Have fun! Can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm knee deep into painting for my existing fantasy world, but I am going to keep this in mind for the future. Maybe we can meet up at a con sometime and field opposing armies. |

@Chgowiz – Yeah the Dunmer are a bit of a pickle but I figure I've got plenty of easier armies to tackle first. I'll keep you up to date as I work. It would be awesome to get a few Elder Scrolls games in at a con some day! |
