Getting ready to firefight this campaign starting next month. A "long wanted to do" project that is finally coming together. Just need to finish up a couple units. Based the campaign on the work that Steve Haller did in the Courier for this. His article Campaigning without Maps has stuck with me over the years. Moves are per month, with each commander being given a series of options. Casualties are carried over.

The American order of battle for Guilford Courthouse has a couple of problems.

Lee's Legion had Campbell's rifle unit attached to it and Washington's cavalry, Kirkwood's Delaware company, and Lynch's rifle unit were brigaded together temporarily as a legion/partisan corps for the action.

See Long, Obstinate, and Bloody by Babits and Howard for an excellent, and quite possibly definitive for the battle, including orders of battle.

The problem that I see with these campaigns is that one a side has got one or more wins on the other his army will become too big and steamroll the whole campaign

Whose army was too big during the southern campaigns?
