Most games have reinforcements or not-yet arrived troops. We would just stick em off table. Now, we put the fellows on national flags to enhance the color of the game. These are for our Franco-Prussian war ( Imperial phase) games.

Hi Nashville,

Thats a really nice idea. Gives an army pride in itself.

Striking idea but some countries having strong feelings about
using their flags in such a manner.

I respect that.., Imperial France and Imperial Prussia are matters of history. No disrespect intended, I am sure we all are aware of Lincoln and McClellan using the American flag as a a table cloth.

We may try to put the flags up on the walls or hang them --- as a way yo show off the game: may or may not be possible.

In any event. in our game the reinforcements will be on paper holding boxes ( as shown as the penultimate photo in the series above) just off the flags so there will not actually be troops directly on the flags since we will want the flags unencumbered with troops. My photos were illustrative. Thanks
