Does your gaming group pretty much play the same thing over and over?

advocate11 May 2017 11:27 p.m. PST

No we are butterflies. Which isn't always a good thing.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut11 May 2017 11:44 p.m. PST

We switch things up from time to time… lately we haven't been gaming as often as we would like (entirely my fault BTW) so we have been sticking to one game.

It's how you handle being stuck that counts.

"Group?" What is this strange word? The guys I play with in Indy do 25mm Napoleon's Battles. The guy I play with in Fort Wayne is open, but we mostly do microscale WW2. The guys I meet in Bristol do CLS, TSATF, Charge and Pig Wars, among others, but don't meet as often.

Oh. And for the English. I just described a circle something over 200 miles in diameter. To attend a respectable miniatures convention, I would have to travel further. Wargaming is different when we're thinner on the ground.

I'd like to be stuck in a rut, then maybe I'd finish something!

Nope – literally have not had the same game in a year (not even the same period/rules)

Pictors Studio12 May 2017 8:52 a.m. PST

I haven't been stuck in a rut since Age of Sigmar came out. Since that time GW has been popping out so many new projects for me that it is difficult to keep up.

wrgmr112 May 2017 8:55 a.m. PST

We tend to play the same rule sets, but different games.

Nah. The game is in the scenario. We switch those up all the time. Except, of course, for the recent annual Battle of Puebla and the six+ month out Christmas Truce WWI soccer match.

no we switch it up. We have lots of periods ,,and we ain;t getting younger.

RJBAJB12 May 2017 2:04 p.m. PST

No. Our club plays all sorts of games in any or all periods and, if you want to play a particular thing, you're almost certain to find someone willing to have a go.

LostPict12 May 2017 5:20 p.m. PST

We play something different everytime about once per month. So far this year LOTR, cowboys, WWII, Xwing, LOTR, WWII….

We go back and forth between miniatures and board games, with lots of new scenarios introduced. So, the answer is that this isn't a problem at all in our club.
