Ordered my PDF a couple of days ago. It looks good, although actually reading it will have to wait.

Good stuff. I like it.

I ordered the softcover from Lulu (I need a book rather than them thar newfangled tablets). Seems like it will be a weird size after the printouts I've been using of the playdoc, but whatever. I love these rules! Can't wait to get my hands on the finished product!

Piper, very excited to get your thoughts on the book! Hope it generates more blog posts!

I got my softcover copy a couple of days ago and I plan on playing some games over the long weekend. Looks like there have been a lot of changes since the last version of the playdoc I was using!

This is a great-looking book, but in hindsight I think I would have preferred the coil binding so that it would lay flat on the table. I have a lot of hero builds to update!

Excellent! Thanks again for your patronage!

Your blog posts inspired me to work harder on the game!

Awesome Piper, I look forward to reading about your adventures!

We've started a thread to post and share hero builds over at LAF, link

Check it out and drop a few in if you want. We're only in the beginning stages but hopefully it will get to be a very useful place.

Saw this the other week through a Wargame Downloads update newsletter, but was too busy with work to follow up. I was wondering though how this differs from SuperSystem, which I like?

And, can it handle Ninja Turtles?

The Angry Piper14 Jun 2017 7:16 a.m. PST

I'm sure Scott could give you a better and more detailed answer than me, boy wundyr x, but I've found it's faster and simpler than Supersystem (which I also like). Character generation takes very little time and a simpler (but familiar) combat mechanic moves things along quickly. It's still Goalsystem, but it plays much smoother (IMO) and requires much less prep time to get a game going.

I did a bunch of AARs with just the playtest rules over on my blog. Now that the finished rules are out, I plan on doing more soon. Check it out if so inclined.

And yes, it could handle TMNT very easily, although the turtles themselves would likely have very similar character builds, at least where powers and archetypes are concerned.

Thanks Piper, I've gone and picked the rules up!

Thanks Piper and Boy Wundyr x!

If you folks have any other questions, post them here. I'll more closely monitor this thread.

Thanks Scott, I had some initial ideas for TMNT after my first reading, but I need to do a better read-through over the weekend. I'll either run some thoughts by folks here or on the LAF thread when I make a first cut of them. It'll be for a game with a 6yo, so I may swap powers across archetypes to distinguish the turtles from each other if needed.

Yes, that sounds fine. The rules are modular enough to withstand quite a bit of tinkering!

:-)

Thanks for playing!

The SMF henchmen rules are perfect for the Foot Clan! LOL!
