This reminds me of the time years ago when my wife told me she preferred tidy-whites to boxers. I almost divorced her because I had a hard time explaining that that suggested she was trying to own me and that it indicated she had a terrible view of men.

This thread is like a big beautiful onion comprised of irony. You peel back one layer of irony only to reveal another.

Since the OP is a woman, it is almost funny that in fear of possible misogyny, actual misogyny has occurred whereby one of the few women on this forum was shouted down?

Or the irony of decrying men as thinking they own women by stating a color preference for stockings by declaring that they have the right to speak for women (or that they need to step in to defend them…against a woman)?

My women miniatures typically have armor plating on their legs, a few have military uniforms.

Black, white, and tan in that order. The only female miniature i currently have painted is joan of arc though, who is well armoured. And was burned alive for dressing like a man.

Depends entirely on what is being worn, the event being attended, and the attitudes and comfort of the lady. I'm just happy they show up :)

Most of my female miniatures are in power armor or a utility uniform with long pants. I also have a few medieval-looking figures in long dresses or robes.

I have a few Star Trek OS looking figures that I haven't painted yet, and I'll try to remember this discussion when I get to them.

Other – Black Pants. They're the easiest paint. Especially with black shoes and flat black bases.

Well, since the OP is a woman and the question was asked sincerely, my preference is for black opaque tights. I wouldn't make it a demand, though. Just my preference.
