Was this meant to be the Shevardino redoubt or the Raevski redoubt? |

Typo in the name … Shevardino. |

It is of deeper shape. And has excellent mushrooms growing on its sides. Quite small. Overall. I like your grassy land. You need more flak space, the terrain is more complicated and it must have been very tempting to move in defile grounds to it and hence the staggering numbers involved. |

@sotek486 Very Nice game! How did you color your teddy bear fur terrain? MG |

@sotek, Love the report. What rules? Also, can you share the make/model of the redoubt or was that scratch built? It's great! |

@marshalGreg: This mat was a commission project we had done by David Skibicki who does awesome custom fur mats for very reasonable prices. Happy to put you in touch with him if you want – just drop me an email at sotek486@yahoo.com. @ccmatty: Rules are "Empires at War" – which is my own set. We used to play Black Powder, but we had too many issues with game play/results. Empires at War is a hybrid of Black Powder, Bolt Action and Kings of War. The rules are contained on 2 double-sided QRS style sheets: link (unit formations can be seen here: link) Maybe not for everyone but my group and I have put a lot into flushing the rules out. I'd say we are very close to being completely done with them. I put them up just for fun in case others want to try them … but they are primarily just for our group. Redoubt is from Grand Manner. I cut it up and green stuffed/sculpted parts of it to "straighten" it out so it would fit the three batteries. The original model from Grand Manner "wraps" around into more of a all around redoubt. Thanks! :-) |

@sotek i sent yo an email requesting information and link with david re; fur mats thanks. The article and AAR are great ,as an aside have you seen Over The hills rules by Ady MacWaler & Quinton Dalton sold by Caliver Press? Ady wrote the AT 1&2 supplements for Blackpowder and I helped him with the forthcoming 1812 Russian campaign supplement to be released in 2017 by Warlordgames. Back to Over the Hills, its a fleshed out period specific feel Napoleonic ruleset along the BP lines but with important advances in my view. They have a Facebook public group called Over the Hills and their company with is FAQ/dicussion forum is called Stand to Games might be of interest to you and others?????? |

@grecian: Replied and got you in contact with them :-) Will take a look … the group is very happy with the home grown set … and we use the same system for other periods (we play a lot of different periods). |
