And then the heavies!
Tall men on large horses with elite status.
The famous Cuirassiers and Carabiniers!
The main battle tank of the Napoleonic wars. Deployed and committed at just the right time to smash the wavering enemy line, it was a battle winning tool in the hands of the right commander! Just dont grind them to pieces by throwing them repeatedly against a square bristling with british bayonets…

These are mostly AB minis, except the regiment with the exploding shell, they are Blue Moon minis mounted on AB horses. They were painted by different painters, Neil at RBP, Some by Fernando and some by myself.

As usually, comments are welcomed.
Hope you like them!

PS: I have 1 more large regiment ready to be based and 1 being painted up to add to the total.

Next up: I have no idea yet;)

Love that explosion. Dead simple and very effective.

I went totally overboard in 28mm with cuirassiers and an explosion. Only once pointed out did I realise that the flames and black smoke were a mixture of Hollywood SFX and modern HE.

Simple white smoke works wonderfully.

Your next project?

Gendarmes d'Elite de La Garde Imperiale (Naturellement!)

Erik, your work is amazing.

It's inspiring me to do myself multiple regiments of each type of cavalry, but I can only wonder how much time that would take!

What's your production rate?

By the way, you should put up a blog!

Dr Jeckyll08 May 2017 5:40 a.m. PST

Thanks folks:)

Von W: Will do! You are of course correct, it should be red;)

Deadhead: The gendarmes are coming with the guard cavalry later on. Dan (Gunner Dunbar) did some really nice conversion work on some grenadiers a Cheval for me, giving them a peak on their beaskins and the extra pouch for their saddle to satisfy the more picky of us!

Jcfrog: there is plenty of room up north if you can handle the cold;)!

Mateus: Thank you, but credit should be given to the people that have helped me by painting most of my collection. Rafa, Neil, Dan, Gav, Vlad etc…
I commission painters (often several at a time) to build my collection faster.
Myself I am a slow painter and only manage to finish one or two units pr. month. I have so far this year only painted and based 3 regiments of cavalry ( 36 figs), about 50 infantry, 2 artillery batteries with crew, 1 limber, 1 caisson and 4 commandstands, and most of this I did in february and march.
So like the most of us, the productivity goes up and down I am afraid..
I will start a blog to catalouge all the units, yes!:) A friend has said he will help me and I already have decided on the layout of it, meanwhile I will continue to post the photos here as I take them!

Cheers!
Erik
