3754AD – The KF- 374, The Tzarina Katrina Romanov , mighty starship of the Skov Kosmoflot, translated from hyperspace & continued on reactor drive to the Antonov System. As soon as a high orbit position on the 5th planet , designated Epsilon 37 delta ( named Tunguska Major ) was attained , portholes the size of hangar door slid open, in the dark blue bottom side of the ship .

Some 60 secs later amid the sound of warning klaxons & strobing blue lights , drop pods started to eject to the planet below. So started the colonisation of this world , the only habitable one in this system.

Here are AA Skov's , bikes ( not all are out yet but soon will be ) & Btr's. Matchbox humvies. Rebel minis wheeled gun drones & Matv Apache. A solid week of frantic painting. Load more skov infantry to paint left.
Enjoy.
Thanks for you comments. Z

nice stuff, but the bikes look too big to me.

I think they look brill!

Typical Skov ingenuity!

Really cool. I like your camouflage. The bikes are a little big, but I like them. I assume that there is some kind of power assist to the steering.

I'm with AA, though the mudguards may be a wee bit small. ;->=

The quad-bikes really impress me. Big, but seem appropriately.

Very impressive. Nice work, both of you!

Thanks all for the comments.

It all started with the wheels ( which in my opinion are among the best designs around ).
Why redesign the wheel ?( pun intended ).

Therefore the bike frame had to accommodate the wheels.Think Judge Dread bike.

Mud guards ,nah Doug mudguards are for wimps :):):) .

Actually, the beautiful wheel tread detail would have been covered with larger/wider guards though there may be future model which will have them.

There are 3 x 2 wheelers types, 1 trike + the quad.

I love the quad most but I had to modify it slightly because of production requirements.

Yes there is indeed an ingenious , power steering system powered by the large electric motor & power cells.

I wrote how I did the camo on one of my blog relies but here it is…

Pity the camera makes them look weird ( cold ) , honestly they look much better especially since they're 15mm & all looks crisp & neat.
Here's how I did the camo. After much head banging the idea to make a KosmoFlot ( as in Kosmonaut ) hit me and what better than to have marines. Blue seemed the ideal colour for such a force.
So…..

Undercoat – Matt black spray can.

Undercoat – Matt Grey spray can very light pass ( as in pressing the noodle on top very very lightly ) in order to have a hazy coat. Look at the bike bases closely & you'll see what I mean. Instant lovely urban colour. I agree also the bases really came out cool.

Take a piece of dense foam , like the stuff watches or jewellery ( a good excuse to buy the wife a ring :):):) ) have in their shop boxes. Cut in 3mm square x 30 mm pieces so you can grab them between your fingers. Pluck little bits from the top with a tweezers so as to have a stamp ( like we used to do with potato halves when we were children ) Try to make a NOT Too square shape as it doesn't look good ( go for a flower shape )

Then use different shades of blue, blue grey & black to lightly stamp the shape on the vehicle . DON"T overdo it as you'll loose the effect. ( I used colours from around 4 different brands. If you're like me you'll have loads of paints running around )
Lastly paint fine lines in Duck egg white.

I especially AA's seated infantry , they remind me of WW2 T34's.Since they have small bottoms it would be much better to stick them on benches ( like I did ) for them to be removable or stick them to the vehicle.

Hope this helps & may you be inspired

And I say you hit a home run with these, Z. Well done.
