Finally started solo play testing an attack on Khartoum's defenses by the army of Mohamed Ahmed, The Mahdi. Here are a few pics of the Dervish host, which is a mix of Mikes Models and Gallia miniatures. I resorted to movement trays to facilitate movement but as the attackers reach the sand berm I'll remove them from the trays.

Looks good. What rules are you using?

love the movement tray idea…very cool!

Thanks, guys.
Rhingyll, I'm using The Men Who Would Be King.
Razuse, the trays are plastic Petri dishes. Very cheap. I made about 30 trays for less than $20 USD, including the spray paint. I already had tons of flock. The lips around the dishes are taller than I'd like but overall, and for the cost, I'm pleased with 'em.

I always love seeing your photos, Ragbones. The Mike's Models/Gallia figures are absolutely charming (I almost said "cute," but wouldn't want to offend them) – there's real personality to those old figures.

As ever, your table looks splendid, and the movement trays are brilliant. Great solution to a problem we all face.
